Toronto Subway

Subway

Toronto, Canada

The subway is Toronto’s underground train system that spans 3 lines (1, 2 & 4) in a basic shape across the city. Although often grouped with the Subway on maps and in literature, the Scarborough RT (Line 3) is technically light rail.

How to Board & Exit The Subway

Every door will open up on each subway car automatically at each station. You do not need to request stops or press any buttons or levers to open subway doors.

Transfer Rules

You can freely transfer to and from a subway station to a different subway line, or an adjacent surface level bus or streetcar route. Example: You can transfer from the Line 1 subway at Queen Station to the 501 Queen Streetcar stop at the Queen Station stop. You do this by showing your transfer or tapping your Presto Card.
