Taxis in Kuala Lumpur are available in a βBudgetβ (red) or βPremiumβ (blue) option and can be identified with a licence plate beginning with the letter βHβ. Normally, they can be flagged down, requested by calling a taxi line, or through the Grab app. Itβs recommended to use the Grab app to book a taxi in order to avoid fare negotiation. In the following areas, however, taxis can only be flagged down after purchasing a voucher from a nearby coupon counter:

Pricing
If youβre not using the Grab app or a voucher, your fare can be paid in cash. Some premium taxis may accept credit and debit cards.
Budget taxis have a base fare of RM3.00 for the first km and charge RM1.00 for every subsequent km. Premium taxis have a base fare of RM6.00 for the first km and charge RM2.00 for every subsequent km.
