How to Find a Bus Route

Finding accurate bus arrival times can be tough in Lisbon. If you’re an iOS user, go and check out GeoBus. GeoBus is an app for your smartphone that has real time bus location information for all bus routes in Lisbon.

How to Board & Exit a Bus

To board a bus, board at the front of the bus near the driver and pay your fare by tapping your Viva Viagem Card. You can also pay cash to the driver, but your fare will be less expensive if you have a Viva Viagem Card. To request a stop, press a red request stop button on a nearby pole. When it comes time to get off the bus at your stop, exit at the rear doors.

Transfer Rules

You do not get a discounted fare when transferring to or from a bus to any other mode of transportation in Lisbon. To pay a cheaper fare, consider using a day pass.
